Sneak Peek Inside the Story!
SnowFire opened her eyes to see ice taking shape beneath her bare feet. She walked out onto the lake, engulfed in the bright light of magic. The ice bore her weight while the water continued to freeze with each step. Before she knew it, SnowFire found herself in the middle of the lake and looked out over the icy water—the waterfall was frozen in time. The beauty took away her breath.
“Showing off again I see.”
SnowFire smiled and turned towards her mate. DarkDeath stood there in all his glory. He was tall, muscular, and had the most extraordinary eyes. They were dark and mysterious with an inner light that resembled dancing fire. Their power always took her breath away and left her speechless.
He flashed her a grin, showing off his fangs. Then DarkDeath stepped out onto the ice, and the shock from the cold sent shivers running through his body. “You always have to do snow and ice,” he grumbled. “Maybe next time you could try flowers with honey.”
“That’s an interesting combination.”
DarkDeath shrugged and reached out slowly for her hand. He placed a kiss on her brow. “It has been a long while since I’ve been able to see you in your element.” His eyes connected with hers. SnowFire smiled and gave him a quick kiss in return.
“It feels good after being stuck in the caves with pups for months on end.”
He smiled and gently nuzzled SnowFire’s neck. She giggled in response and lightly brushed him away. He growled playfully and tried to pull her into an embrace. SnowFire looked deep into his eyes and batted her eyelashes. He was so drawn into her gaze that DarkDeath didn’t see what was about to happen until it was too late.
SnowFire grinned and twitched her nose. The ice beneath DarkDeath’s feet dissolved instantly and he found himself spitting water. “Snow, what’s the big idea!” She bent over laughing as he crawled back onto the ice. He sulked over to the ground where he was safe from her magic. Completely drenched, he squatted and shook his entire body. His ears and tail puffed up like giant fuzz balls.
