D is for Derian
Derian Declare is a royal guard to King Tyler. He was named “Knight of the Rose,” when he came of age. Derian proved himself loyal to the king under his father’s directions.
Thomas Delcare is the son of Lord Declare off in the northern sector of the kingdom of Tarza. The family has always been loyal to the throne throughout its time as a ruling house.
Derian was the first son of Lord Thomas to join the royal court to become a knight. He has served under the king for several years, watching him reign and rule over his people. Things change when he has feelings towards a stubborn princess that gets in trouble. She stands out from the mold of a true noble lady and Derian can’t help but feel attracted to her. That is until a wrench is thrown in the system when that princess goes crazy. At least by his terms.
Derian stands before the King as he stands looking out over the vast land of his kingdom. His daughter has stormed the castle and left to fight a war she can’t win because well it’s a man’s job to fight wars, not women’s. That is at least what Derian was raised to think.
He gets the ultimate assignment. Follow the princess throughout the kingdom and protect her at all costs. But don’t bring her back kicking and screaming. She will have to find out the hard way that making a difference is harder than you think.
Now he is on the road trying to track down this crazy woman only to find that he couldn’t be happier for her to find herself. He didn’t want to approach her about his feelings so he keeps them to himself. But journeys of war have a tendency to bring people together. Derian just has to make sure Kero stays alive along enough to make it through the war and make it home. Should be easy if she wasn’t always doing stupid shit that nearly got her killed repeatedly.
Want to meet this crazy princess that Derian finds under his control of protection? Then check out "Masquerade Assassin." Prince Kero makes her first appearance in this book and you get to see one of her adventures she goes on.
