"This is a short story of a persons nightmare, it is quick and to the point. The action is nonstop and the nightmare is very vivid. You can easily see it in your minds eye and appreciate the authors work. I hope to read many more of K.M.'s work as I always enjoy the escape into the world Katie builds. I do recommend the read as it fills in some blanks in Ferrês life."

Sneak Peek Inside the Story!
Looks like this building was abandoned or forgotten about.
Slowly he tested the floorboards, worried his feet would fall through. He made his way to the storage cupboards to find rotten food and destroyed shelves, but there was a nice-sized pan for frying meats. Since the place seemed abandoned, he snatched it up without a thought.
Aerigon went to get his few meager belongings and cleaned up a section of the cabin. He settled himself down on a blanket he found and fell asleep. Nightmares plagued him as scratching sounds scraped across the roof.
Aerigon tossed and turned, trying to sleep. The noises just kept getting louder and louder. In his dreams he was running from something, but he couldn’t figure out what it was. Red eyes stared at him from the shadows. He tripped and was grabbed by something that made a hissing sound. Screaming, he woke up to find himself still inside the dusty cabin.
He breathed a sigh of relief. Probably a good thing I didn’t sleep outside tonight. Don’t want to attract the attention of any travelers who might be passing by. The sound of scraping nails hit his ears. Aerigon turned around, looking over his shoulder at the dark kitchen area. Nothing was there.
Thump.
Crasssshhh…
It sounded like something was attacking the cabin from outside. He hoped it was just the wind, but sounds of little footsteps scurried across the roof. “What is happening?”
A loud thud came from the front door. He turned toward it with dread. “It’s just your imagination. You were having a bad dream and your mind is playing tricks on you.”
He gulped as the pitter patter of feet ran across the porch. The only way to prove you’re not going crazy is to check it out. Aerigon crept over to the door, wishing it wasn’t in such shabby condition. Slowly the door creaked open, and he peeked out into the pitch-black night. It took his eyes a moment to adjust. The dim light of the moon barely illuminated the scenery. “That’s weird, I don’t remember there being so many trees.”
