What Readers are Saying!
"I won't spoil it, but in the first couple of pages there is tragedy. It got me teary-eyed. This felt strange reading, compared to the other Tales of Ferres stories. It felt really emotional. It was good, don't get me wrong, but just really emotional. A lot of betrayal and it's going to be hard for the main character to move on. It's another amazing story. One day I plan to re-read all of the Tales of Ferres in order."

"These books are exciting to read but for me too short- it seems as if I just started it and then I’m done- which is a sign of a good book as the time passes so swiftly"

Sneak Peek Inside the Story!
“So in other words, we are being drawn back to our homeland—forced into exile from the worlds without.”
Zeima nodded her large horned head. Sorrow filled her eyes along with a spark of rage. They were being punished for the actions of one ryder. This wasn’t fair. Anger filled him as he jumped to his feet and began to pace. How could they believe this is the right action? What will become of us? Let alone the kingdoms we have been protecting for so long?
“I understand your worry, little one. But there is something else that affected the decision they made.”
“What in the world could have made them think this was the right choice! We are being punished for a horrid crime we didn’t commit. How is exiling us the answer?” he yelled, clenching his fists.
“Don’t raise your voice at me,” Zeima growled. “This decision wasn’t made lightly. You need to calm yourself down so you can get all the facts. This is not the time to lose your head.”
Shogun glared at her. Even though she spoke nothing but the truth, every fiber of his being was screaming in rage. He felt betrayed by those he had trusted for so long. Shogun plopped down on the ground, sprawling out beneath the night sky. Under the stars he felt so small. Taking a deep breath, his heart slowed down and the urge to scream faded.
